The Bay High School boys golf team posted a 344 behind Emmitt’s team-low 81 on Thursday at the Mustang Classic at Bunker Hill. Matthew followed with an 83, Aidan shot 89 and Ryan added a 91 as the Rockets navigated waterlogged fairways, thick rough and difficult pin placements.

Emmitt led the way with an 81, using strong iron play to consistently find the correct yardages and create makeable birdie opportunities. His work approaching the greens kept the round together despite inconsistency off the tee. A steadier performance with the driver could have pushed his score into the mid-70s.

Matthew Mileti finished with an 83, a score that did not fully reflect the overall quality of his round. Matthew endured two triple bogeys and two double bogeys but played the other 14 holes in just 1 over par. That long stretch of steady golf demonstrated his ability to recover from costly holes and continue producing solid results.

Aidan Carey carded an 89 after opening with a 43 on the front nine. The demanding conditions began to have a greater effect over the final nine holes, but Aidan came away with experience that should be useful as the season moves toward its postseason tournaments.

The Mustang Classic gave the Rockets a direct test of the conditions they could encounter at sectionals and districts. Bay’s season goal is to advance to the district tournament, a task that will likely require the team to manage difficult lies, limit damage on troublesome holes and remain patient when scoring opportunities are scarce.

The Rockets return to competition on the road Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at 12 p.m. EDT for CWC Round #/Seneca. The quick turnaround gives Bay another chance to apply the course-management lessons gained at Bunker Hill.
