Beaumont rolls past West Geauga behind balanced attack, strong play in goal

Beaumont’s varsity lacrosse team controlled the match from the start Wednesday (April 8) night, pulling away for a 15-3 road win over West Geauga High School in Chesterland.
The Blue Streaks decisive edge came from a steady offensive push and a defense that limited West Geauga to three goals while senior goalkeeper Suzie Christy finished with seven saves.
The Blue Streaks produced scoring throughout the lineup and turned their pressure into a lopsided final. Senior Fiona Todaro led the way with four goals and one assist, while freshman Kristina Linares added three goals and junior Audrey Wiskes and freshman Brynn Fallon each scored twice.
Junior Bryn Safran contributed a goal and an assist as Beaumont finished with 15 goals on 33 shots on goal. The visitors also controlled possession in key stretches, collecting 24 ground balls and consistently keeping West Geauga on the defensive.
Beaumont led 5-1 after a quarter and 11-1 at halftime. The Blue Streaks were sharp around the cage, efficient enough to separate early and deep enough offensively to keep adding on.
The win gave Beaumont a complete road performance, with offense, possession play and goaltending all showing up in the result. After scoring 15 times against West Geauga, the Blue Streaks next return home to face Orange High School on Saturday, April 11. JV is first at 11:30 a.m. with varsity to follow at 1:00 p.m.
