Buckeye used a blistering start and a balanced scoring effort to overpower North Olmsted 71–49 in a conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Buckeye High School.

The Bucks seized control immediately, racing to a 25–9 lead after the first quarter behind aggressive defense and efficient half-court offense. Buckeye continued to push the pace in the second period, turning stops into transition opportunities and stretching the margin to 48–20 by halftime. With the outcome largely in hand, the Bucks managed the game the rest of the way, trading baskets with the Eagles while maintaining a comfortable advantage through the final buzzer.

Guard Zak Stough led Buckeye in scoring, finishing with a game-high 16 points to pace a well-distributed offensive attack. Stough’s perimeter shooting and ability to get to the rim helped spark the early 25–9 surge that put North Olmsted on its heels. His presence on the wing opened driving lanes and drew defensive attention that created looks for teammates throughout the first half.

Forward Turner Dolata delivered a standout performance in the paint, posting a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Dolata controlled the glass on both ends, extending possessions with offensive boards and limiting second-chance opportunities for the Eagles. His work inside complemented Buckeye’s perimeter attack and was a key factor in building the 28-point halftime cushion.

Derek Snyderburn added another strong scoring effort for the Bucks with 14 points, giving Buckeye a reliable option in the half-court and in transition. Guard Austin Hyre chipped in 12 points, helping sustain the offensive rhythm as the Bucks rotated personnel and protected the lead in the second half. The combination of four double-figure scorers underscored the balance that North Olmsted struggled to contain.

Defensively, Buckeye’s early pressure and rebounding set the tone, holding North Olmsted to just nine first-quarter points and 20 by halftime. Even as the Eagles found more success scoring after the break, the Bucks’ sizable lead and consistent execution kept the game firmly under control, closing out the 71–49 victory.

With the win, Bucks Men’s Basketball continued to build momentum in conference play, backed by depth, balance and a fast start that North Olmsted could not overcome.
