Buckeye Boys Bowling Outduels Brunswick Behind Miller’s Big Night

Buckeye High School’s boys varsity bowling team edged Brunswick 2,212-2,092 in a dual match at AMF Medina Lanes on Wednesday night, using a pair of strong team games and steady Baker play to secure the victory.

Kevin Miller led the Bucks with the top series of the match, rolling games of 222 and 237 for a 459 set that set the tone on the high end of the lineup. Miller’s consistency across both team games provided Buckeye with crucial anchor scoring as the Bucks built and then protected their lead over Brunswick.

Buckeye also received important support from John Ambrose, who posted games of 166 and 191 for a 357 series, and from Alex Marconi, who added matching games of 160 and 160 for a 320 set. The balanced scoring allowed the Bucks to keep pressure on Brunswick throughout the match, preventing any major momentum shifts.

Several single-game efforts also contributed to the team’s winning total. Hunter Uehlein fired a 213, while Carter Fry added a 176 and Gavin Onyx chipped in with a 136. In SAW competition, a 216 game provided another highlight for Buckeye on the lanes, underscoring the program’s depth beyond the starting lineup.

Buckeye’s performance in the Baker games helped close out the match. The Bucks put together Baker scores of 183 and 152, maintaining enough cushion over Brunswick to finish comfortably ahead in total pins. The Baker strength complemented the earlier team-game scores and proved decisive in preserving the margin of victory.

The success extended to the junior varsity level, where the JV boys from Buckeye posted an 1,822 total to Brunswick’s 1,491. With both varsity and JV earning wins, the Bucks turned in a strong program-wide showing and will look to build on the momentum as the schedule continues into the heart of the winter season.
