Buckeye Junior High Wrestling Team finishes second at OAC Jr. High State

Carter Southwick | Buckeye High School Athletics | Mar 25, 2026

Buckeye’s junior high wrestling team turned in a strong showing Saturday at the OAC Jr. High State tournament in Youngstown, finishing second in the team standings and adding an All-Ohio performance to the day’s results.

The Bucks were led by Shane McKee, who placed fourth to earn All-Ohio honors in junior high competition. McKee’s finish provided one of the top individual results for Buckeye at the state event and helped anchor the team’s runner-up performance against a deep field.

Greyson Zoul, Hayden Wagner, Lucas Naso and Lilliana Hernandez came up short in the blood round. Their runs still contributed to Buckeye’s overall finish.

While Buckeye did not leave with the team title, the second-place finish at OAC Jr. High State marked a significant accomplishment and reflected a full lineup that continued to score throughout the event.

With McKee placing 4th and multiple teammates advancing to decisive late-round matches, Buckeye closed the state tournament with both hardware and momentum.
