Buckeye broke the game open early and never gave Valley Forge a chance to recover Tuesday, riding a grand slam from Zach Seeley and a fast start at the plate to a 13-5 varsity baseball win at Buckeye High School.

The decisive swing came in the third inning, when Seeley launched a grand slam to left field as part of his four-RBI day. Buckeye had already seized control before that. In the bottom of the first, Tyler Heers doubled home two runs, and another run scored on an error to put the Bucks in front. Buckeye added two more runs in the second inning, with Logan Brown contributing a sacrifice fly, and the lead only grew from there.

Seeley and Heers each finished with four RBIs to pace the offense. Aaron Hamman added two hits in three at-bats, while Rees Perkins helped set the tone with three walks. Buckeye showed patience throughout the lineup, drawing seven walks and consistently forcing Valley Forge into difficult counts.

Zachary Stough earned the win for the Bucks after working 4 1/3 innings. He allowed seven hits and five runs, though only two were earned, while striking out five and walking three. Colton Price took over in relief and closed the door with two scoreless innings, allowing no hits, striking out two and walking three.

Valley Forge starter Wisniewski took the loss after allowing 13 runs, 12 earned, on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings. Buckeye’s early production and Seeley’s third-inning blast gave the home team more than enough breathing room, and the Bucks capitalized on nearly every opening they created.

The win added up to a complete offensive effort for Buckeye, with timely extra-base hitting, productive outs and disciplined plate appearances all playing a part in a 13-run afternoon at the Varsity Baseball Field.
