Buckeye completed a conference sweep on Saturday, winning both the dual championship and the CWC Conference Meet to secure the overall league title with 16 total points at Westlake High School.

The Bucks capped an undefeated dual season at 7-0 to earn 8 dual placement points, then matched that total with 8 CWC tournament points by winning the conference tournament, finishing ahead of runner-up Westlake (14 total points) and third-place Valley Forge (10). Normandy (9), North Olmsted (8), Lakewood and Bay (6 each), and Rocky River (3) rounded out the final standings. Buckeye’s balance across weight classes and consistency in both duals and the postseason tournament proved decisive in separating the Bucks from the rest of the Cleveland West Conference field.

Buckeye’s championship performance was built around a deep All-Conference lineup that scored heavily across the bracket. First-Team All-Conference selections included 106-pounder Vincent Joy, 120-pounder Collin Bartos, 126-pounder Brenden McKee, 138-pounder Logan Letner, 150-pounder Carter Hershkowitz, and 165-pounder Brody Zoul. Those placements provided critical tournament points and reflected the Bucks’ strength in the middle and lower weights, where they consistently advanced to finals and medal rounds throughout the day.

At the team level, Buckeye head coach Mike Tecco was recognized as Coach of the Year, an honor that underscored the Bucks’ wire-to-wire success in duals and their ability to peak again in the conference meet. The All-Conference recognitions continued with second team honors to 132-pounder Daniel Leonard, 157-pounder Kaden Locker, and 175-pounder Preston Ware.

With an undefeated dual slate, a tournament title and the league’s top coach, Buckeye established itself as the standard in the CWC this season. As postseason competition continues beyond the conference level, the Bucks will look to carry that momentum into sectional and district action, while the rest of the conference builds on a competitive year highlighted by standout individuals and emerging depth across all weight classes.
