Buckeye wins CWC Championships with 132.00 team score

MEDINA, Ohio — Buckeye Women’s Gymnastics delivered a complete team effort at the CWC Championships on Saturday, posting a 132.00 to secure first place in the three-team field.
The Bucks edged ahead of North Olmsted, which finished second at 126.65, and Lakewood, which took third with 111.45. Buckeye combined strong depth across all four events with several podium finishes in the all-around, led by a runner-up performance from Nevaeh Sejka and top-three finishes from Kora Seeley and Miranda Pesto.
Buckeye set the tone on vault, where the team placed four gymnasts in the top six. Miranda Pesto and Seeley shared the event title, each scoring 8.35 to tie for first place. Sejka followed close behind with an 8.25 for third, while Danica Bir contributed a 7.85 to finish sixth. The lineup’s consistency on the event provided an early foundation for Buckeye’s team total.
On beam, Bir led the way with one of the Bucks’ most solid routines of the day, earning an 8.70 to claim second place. Seeley added an 8.40 for fourth, and Pesto posted an 8.25 to finish fifth, giving Buckeye three of the top five beam scores. The steady work on the apparatus helped the team maintain its lead in the standings.
The Bucks were equally strong on floor exercise, where Sejka delivered an 8.80 to win the event title. Seeley’s 8.70 landed her in third, and Pesto followed with an 8.60 for fourth, once again stacking Buckeye toward the top of the leaderboard. The combination of clean tumbling and controlled landings kept the scores flowing and widened the team’s advantage over North Olmsted and Lakewood.
Buckeye also put together a standout rotation on bars. Sejka captured another event win with an 8.85, the top score of the meet on the apparatus. Seeley placed third with a 7.80, and Emmalin Samosky added valuable depth with a 7.65 to take fourth. Pesto’s 7.45 rounded out a strong showing in sixth place, giving the Bucks four finishers in the top six on bars.
The team’s across-the-board strength showed most clearly in the all-around standings. Sejka compiled a 33.55 to finish second overall, with Seeley close behind in third at 33.25 and Pesto taking fourth at 32.65. Bir’s 32.30 was good for sixth, giving Buckeye four of the top six all-around placements. That depth proved decisive as the Bucks pulled away to claim the CWC Championship with their 132.00 total.
With the conference title secured and multiple gymnasts posting podium finishes on every event, Buckeye enters the stretch run of the season with momentum and confidence across its lineup.
