Bucks Celebrate Senior Night With 3-0 Sweep of Valley Forge

MEDINA, Ohio - Buckeye High School Athletics’ varsity volleyball team celebrated senior night with a 3-0 victory over Valley Forge High School on Tuesday, September 29, at Buckeye High School Varsity Gymnasium. The Bucks won 25-17, 25-13, 25-15, pairing a balanced attack with productive serving and strong individual defensive performances.
Buckeye opened with an eight-point victory in the first set before posting its widest margin of the match in the second, winning by 12. The Bucks completed the sweep with a 10-point advantage in the third. Those three decisive set results gave Buckeye a fitting finish to its senior night celebration and moved the team to 5-4 in conference play.
Erin Salazar led the attack with 13 kills, while Katie Csach and Blakely Herman added nine apiece. The trio combined for 31 kills, giving the Bucks contributions from multiple hitters. Aurora Allen supplied 41 assists to guide the offense, and she also contributed three aces to match Greycee Holden for the team’s top reported serving total.
Csach delivered two aces and a team-leading 13 service points, with Holden adding 11 service points. Their production at the service line complemented Buckeye’s hitting throughout the straight-set win. On defense, Avery Lewandowski recorded 13 digs, while Herman contributed three block kills, adding a presence at the net to her nine-kill offensive performance.
The senior night sweep featured contributions across serving, setting, attacking and defense, giving the Bucks plenty to celebrate before returning to the road. The Bucks will look to carry that momentum into their next contest on Thursday, October 1, against North Olmsted High School.
