Bucks Close Inaugural Golf Season Against Rocky River After Sectional Debut

At the OHSAA Division I Northeast sectional on Monday, Sept. 28 at Big Met, Buckeye finished with a team score of 444. A strong back nine helped Kamille Shea lead the Bucks with her 105 in the team's second 18-hole event of the season. Angelina Vannello followed with a 108, and Amelia Kenney finished one stroke behind with a 109.

Olivia Hanna supplied the fourth counting score at sectionals with a 122, completing Buckeye's 444 total, while Anna Eberhardt shot 128. The sectional competition marked Buckeye High School's first appearance at the OHSAA event, adding a postseason milestone before the Bucks concluded their inaugural schedule against Rocky River.

Buckeye's girls golf team closed its inaugural season with a 203-225 loss to Rocky River on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Coppertop. Freshman Kamille Shea led the Bucks with a 51, the third-lowest round of the match, one day after leading Buckeye in its first OHSAA sectional appearance.

The nine-hole season finale was played on the front nine. Amelia Kenney and Angelina Vannello each shot 57 for Buckeye, while Valentina Barber finished with a 60 to complete the team's counting scores. Those four rounds produced the Bucks' 225 total, leaving them 22 strokes behind Rocky River. Anna Eberhardt also competed for Buckeye and carded a 69.

Shea provided Buckeye's lowest score in both events during the team's final two days of competition. The freshman followed a 105 over 18 holes at sectionals with the 51 against Rocky River. Vannello and Kenney also contributed counting scores in both events, helping establish the team totals as the newly formed program completed its first season.
