Bucks Compete at Spartan Spirit & Earn Top 5 at CWC Cheer Competition
MEDINA, Ohio - At the Spartan Spirit Showdown Competition in Springfield, Buckeye placed fourth out of four teams. The team identified sharper motions and maintaining smiles throughout the entire routine as areas for continued work. Those details remain priorities as the Bucks refine their performance beyond the improvement shown at CWC.
Buckeye High School Athletics' competitive cheer team finished fifth among eight teams at the CWC Cheer Competition, improving its performance from the previous day's competition. The Bucks were the only non-building team to earn a top-five finish.
The final placement came with a scoring distinction: Buckeye earned the fourth-highest score of the night, with a tie for third place accounting for the fifth-place finish. The Bucks stepped up their routine from the day before, moving into the top five against a larger field.
Individual recognition accompanied the competition results. Addy Burcham and Cammy Rundle earned first-team all-conference honors, while Maycie Bodak and Allie Schimdt received honorable mention.
Away from the competition standings, Cheer with Bucks brought more than 60 youth participants to practices. The young participants brought spirit despite the rain, adding a youth event to the program's competition activities. Buckeye plans to continue growing Cheer with Bucks each year.
