Bucks Girls Bowling Edges Berea-Midpark Behind Onyx’s 367 Series
Buckeye High School’s girls varsity bowling team picked up a road win Monday, defeating Berea-Midpark 1,924-1,829 at Brookgate Lanes in Brook Park behind a balanced lineup and a standout series from Riley Onyx.
Onyx led the Bucks with games of 172 and 195 for a 367 series, setting the tone at the top of the lineup. She was closely followed by Aubrey Reuter, who turned in a steady 186–174 for a 360 series, giving Buckeye a reliable one-two punch in traditional play.
Buckeye’s depth proved to be the difference. LaRyssa Hartshorn posted the team’s high single game with a 200 in her first game and added a 129 in game two for a 329 series. Addison Fry contributed a 144–149 (293), while Leah Kaczmarski rounded out the scoring with 153–125 (278), as all five Bucks bowlers topped the 125-mark in at least one game.
In baker play, Buckeye maintained its advantage with games of 160 and 137 to close out the match. Those baker scores helped the Bucks protect their lead and finish with a 95-pin margin over the host Berea-Midpark squad, capping a consistent team effort across both traditional and baker formats.
The 1,924-pin team total reflected one of the Bucks’ more balanced outings, with multiple bowlers contributing key frames and marks in the later stages. Onyx’s near-200 second game and Hartshorn’s 200 opener were among the pivotal performances that gave Buckeye enough cushion to secure the victory on the road.
With the win, the Bucks girls varsity team carries momentum into its upcoming matches, backed by a lineup that showed it can combine high-end scoring with depth to outlast conference opponents in tight road environments.
