The Bucks men’s varsity bowling team turned in a steady, high-scoring performance on the road Wednesday, defeating Keystone 2,336-2,088 in a conference matchup in Wellington, Ohio. Strong individual sets from John Ambrose and Carter Fry, along with a big push in Baker play, carried Buckeye High School to the convincing win.

Ambrose led the Bucks with a 415 series, posting games of 214 and 201 to pace the varsity lineup. Fry was close behind with a 405 series, closing strong with a 213 after a 192 opener to give Buckeye a reliable anchor in the lineup. Their combined 820 pins set the tone at the top of the rotation and helped the Bucks build separation early in the match.

Depth scoring proved just as important for Buckeye. Kevin Miller added a 381 series with games of 202 and 179, giving the Bucks another consistent presence across both team games. Sean Chambers contributed a 358 series on games of 181 and 177, while Hunter Uehlein chipped in a 190 game to further pad the varsity total. SAW added a 141 game, rounding out a lineup that provided scoring at every spot.

The Bucks’ advantage widened in Baker play, where the lineup found its rhythm and closed out the match decisively. Buckeye rolled Baker games of 217 and 229, a combined 446 that helped seal the 248-pin margin over Keystone. The strong Baker finish underscored the team’s cohesion and execution in the late frames.

While varsity controlled its match, the Bucks junior varsity fell 2,029-1,872 to Keystone in the undercard. Despite the loss, the JV group stayed competitive throughout, providing additional experience and depth for the program as the season progresses.

With the road victory, Bucks men’s bowling continues to build momentum heading into the heart of its schedule. Behind reliable scoring from Ambrose, Fry and the varsity lineup, along with strong Baker-game execution, the team heads into upcoming matches with confidence and a solid foundation to build on.
