Bucks Reach Meet-Best Team Finishes at Todd Clark Cloverleaf Invitational

MEDINA, Ohio - Buckeye High School Athletics’ cross country teams posted their best finishes at the Todd Clark Cloverleaf Invitational on Saturday, September 26, at Silver Creek Metro Park. The varsity boys placed ninth among 27 teams, led by Dimitry Pshonyak’s runner-up finish, while the girls finished 14th of 27 and were the top Division III team. Hannah Dugan led the girls in 31st place, earning an overall varsity award.
Pshonyak finished in 16:13, less than a second behind Nordonia’s Aiden Flynn in a tight race for the individual title. Joe Stahl gave the Bucks a second varsity award winner, placing 13th in 16:38. Nolan Rieth followed in 60th at 17:32, Gavin Waibel took 73rd in 17:43, and John Galayda III finished 97th in 18:01 to complete Buckeye’s top five.
Nick Rieth placed 125th in 18:13, and Dylan Lough finished 132nd in 18:16, rounding out the boys’ top seven. Galayda, Rieth and Lough finished within a 15-second span, providing a closely grouped finish behind Buckeye’s leading runners. Bennett Knapp and Will Bienias also recorded personal bests over the 5-kilometer distance.
Dugan’s 20:36 was a personal best and paced the girls’ Division III-leading performance. Hayleigh Kreeger also set a personal best, finishing 44th in 20:57, just 21 seconds behind Dugan. Lily Regiec placed 67th in 22:13, giving the Bucks three runners among the first 67 finishers.
The girls had two close pairings farther back in the field. Mackenzie Anderson finished 137th in 23:06, followed four seconds later by Lila Hoover in 140th at 23:10. Anna Kosman and Kate Shearer took consecutive places, with Kosman 197th in 25:19 and Shearer 198th in 25:24, to complete the top seven. Ganen Losh joined Dugan and Kreeger in setting a personal best for the 5K.
Buckeye’s junior varsity team finished 10th among 27 teams, led by Vinny Joy’s 17th-place finish in the open race in 18:43. Both varsity squads established program-best team finishes and fastest average times for this meet and course, adding team milestones to the individual awards and personal bests. The Bucks will look to bounce back in their next contest on Saturday, October 10, at the Medina XC Festival.
