MEDINA, Ohio - Two goals 53 seconds apart set the tone as the Buckeye High School Athletics girls soccer team (7-4-2) defeated Valley Forge (1-9) 6-0 on Senior Night on Wednesday, September 30. Isabelle Krakowski scored twice and added an assist, helping the Bucks build a three-goal halftime lead before matching that output in the second half.
Tenley Winter opened the scoring with 38:26 on the first-half clock, finishing off an assist from Avery Deringer. Krakowski followed at 37:33, with Brooklyn DiEgidio providing the assist, to give Buckeye a quick 2-0 advantage. Krakowski scored again at 20:02 on a setup from Maddie Wilhelm, completing the Bucks’ first-half scoring and putting Valley Forge in a three-goal hole.
Buckeye continued its scoring early in the second half. Grace Pronik made it 4-0 at 37:48 with an assist from Morgan Penny. Penny then scored at 23:24, converting a setup from Krakowski. Ashley Dudas supplied the final goal at 1:52, with Wilhelm collecting a second assist. Five different Bucks scored, while Penny contributed both a goal and an assist.
The Bucks paired their six-goal attack with a defensive effort that limited Valley Forge to two shots and one shot on goal. Carlie Gunkelman made one save to help secure the shutout. Buckeye finished with 29 shots, including 20 on goal, and held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Valley Forge recorded 14 saves against the Bucks’ sustained pressure.
Buckeye scored three times in each half, spreading its production across multiple finishers and getting two assists from Wilhelm. The result gave the Bucks a six-goal victory to mark Senior Night. The Bucks will look to bounce back in their next contest on Wednesday, October 7th against Westlake.
