Bucks Sweep Normandy in Three Sets Behind Balanced Attack

CLEVELAND - Buckeye completed a straight-set victory over Normandy High School on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 with set scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-20. The Bucks combined an efficient attack with steady serving and defensive work to improve to 4-4 in conference play and 6-8 overall.
Lauren Zerr led the offense with eight kills, while Aurora Allen and Erin Salazar added six kills apiece. Aurora Allen directed the attack throughout the match and finished with 30 assists, helping Buckeye produce contributions from multiple hitters as it maintained control across all three sets.
The Bucks established the early advantage with a six-point win in the opening set. Normandy provided its strongest challenge in the second, but Buckeye handled the match's closest set and closed out a 25-21 victory. The Bucks then carried that momentum into the third set, winning 25-20 to complete the sweep without needing a fourth.
Buckeye also applied pressure from the service line. Aurora Allen recorded 11 service points and joined Kelsey Willis and Greycee Holden with two aces apiece. That balanced serving production complemented the Bucks' work at the net and helped prevent Normandy from extending the match.
Erin Salazar anchored the back row with 14 digs in addition to her six kills, giving Buckeye an important two-way performance. Blakely Herman supplied another defensive presence at the net with two block kills. With Lauren Zerr setting the pace offensively, Aurora Allen distributing the ball and several players contributing from the service line, the Bucks put together a complete three-set effort.
Buckeye returns home to face Valley Forge High School at 6 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026. The Bucks will enter that conference match looking to build on the balanced play that produced their sweep of Normandy.
