Bucks Sweep North Olmsted Behind Salazar’s 11 Kills

MEDINA, Ohio - Buckeye High School Athletics’ varsity volleyball team swept North Olmsted High School 3-0 on Thursday, October 1, at North Olmsted High School Gym. The Bucks won 25-17, 25-20, 25-17, with Kelsey Willis recording 11 service points and Aurora Allen contributing 25 assists, 13 digs and two aces.
Buckeye opened with an eight-point victory in the first set before taking the closest set of the match by five points. The Bucks then matched their opening-set score in the third to complete the road sweep without needing a fourth set. They held North Olmsted to 20 points or fewer in each set.
Erin Salazar led the Bucks’ attack, while Katilyn Csach added seven kills and Lauren Zerr finished with six. The three combined for 24 kills, giving Buckeye contributions from several hitters. Allen’s 25 assists helped direct that offense, and Avery Lewandowski supplied another seven assists.
Allen also contributed defensively with her 13 digs while adding two aces at the service line. Kelsey Willis recorded nine digs and 11 service points, complementing Allen’s work with production in both the serving and defensive portions of the match.
At the net, Greycee Holden and Blakely Herman each registered three block kills. Their combined six block kills added another scoring source alongside the Bucks’ hitting and serving contributions, helping Buckeye finish the league match in straight sets.
Buckeye stands fourth in the conference with a 6-4 league record and 8-9 record overall. The Bucks will look to bounce back in their next contest at home on Saturday, October 3rd vs Wellington.
