The Bucks Women’s Bowling team made a powerful statement at the 2025 Big Winter Shootout on Saturday, stacking up a 3,261 total pinfall to secure an impressive second-place finish at Bowling Palace in Columbus. Against a deep field, the Bucks used balanced scoring across all three traditional games and a strong stretch of Baker play to stay near the top of the leaderboard from start to finish.

Buckeye’s lineup showcased both consistency and clutch shot-making in the traditional games. Leah Kaczmarski paced the effort with a standout series of 149-208-143 for a 500 set, highlighted by the 200-plus second game that gave the Bucks a mid-block surge. Close behind was Aubrey Reuter, who heated up after the opener and delivered games of 132-183-181 for a 496 series, providing a crucial scoring anchor in the middle of the lineup.

The Bucks also received big contributions from Riley Onyx, whose steady 160-170-160 for a 490 series kept the team’s floor high all afternoon. At the top of the order, Addison Fry turned in a reliable 164-157-154 for a 475 set, giving Buckeye a strong start each game. Rounding out the scoring, LaRyssa Hartshorn added a 376 series on games of 127-133-116, helping stabilize the early frames and keep the team within striking distance of the leaders.

The momentum carried into Baker play, where the Bucks strung together several key games to solidify their second-place finish. Buckeye posted Baker scores of 185, 121, 155, 159, 183, and 121, with the 185 and 183 games standing out as defining stretches. Those higher Baker totals came at critical times, allowing the Bucks to climb and then hold their spot near the top of the standings as the event tightened late.

What set this performance apart was the collective effort up and down the roster. With four bowlers between 475 and 500 series and timely Baker surges, the Bucks demonstrated depth, resilience, and composure in a competitive tournament setting. Every frame mattered, and Buckeye consistently answered with quality shots when the team needed them most.

Earning second place at a major event like the Big Winter Shootout is a strong benchmark for the Bucks Women’s Bowling program and a promising sign for the remainder of the season. With multiple bowlers putting up near-500 sets and the team proving it can score in both traditional and Baker formats, Buckeye heads into upcoming matches with confidence, momentum, and plenty of pride in a performance that showcased just how competitive this group can be.
