Four Bucks Earn CWC Honors as Boys Soccer Closes Season
MEDINA, Ohio - Four CWC all-conference selections highlighted the postseason for Buckeye High School Athletics’ varsity boys soccer team after a 3-11-4 finish. The Bucks posted a 1-5-1 conference record. Dimitri Tenenika led the team’s postseason recognition with a first-team selection, while Eli Schaller earned second-team honors.
The Bucks completed an 18-match schedule that included seven conference contests and 11 games outside conference play. Their overall record included four draws, accounting for nearly a quarter of the schedule. Outside the conference, Buckeye finished 2-6-3, with two of its three victories and three of its four ties coming in those matchups.
Against that team backdrop, Tenenika’s first-team selection stood as Buckeye’s highest all-conference honor. Schaller followed on the second team, giving the Bucks representation at both levels of the CWC selections. The individual recognition provided a separate measure of the season from the win-loss record, with multiple Buckeye players receiving honors despite the team finishing with more losses than wins.
Nate Tessman and Joe Zimmerman each received honorable mention, completing Buckeye’s group of four honorees. The postseason awards extended beyond the first and second teams, bringing two additional Bucks into the conference recognition. Buckeye closed the season with one first-team selection, one second-team selection and two honorable mentions.
