Kenney’s Two Birdies Lead Buckeye Past Lutheran West, 215-236
VALLEY CITY, Ohio - Amelia Kenney earned medalist honors with a 47, helping Buckeye defeat Lutheran West 215-236 in a nine-hole girls golf match Wednesday on the back nine. Kenney’s round featured two birdies and led the Bucks to a 21-stroke victory.
Kenney delivered a strong response after the previous day’s match. Her two birdies provided the highlights of the round and helped her secure the lowest individual score in the match. The performance also gave Buckeye a dependable score at the top of its lineup.
Kamille Shea followed with a 53, while Angelina Vannello added a 56. Anna Eberhardt and Olivia Hanna each shot 59, giving the Bucks two matching scores behind their top three finishers. Valentina Barber completed Buckeye’s lineup with a 62.
Buckeye’s team total came from its four lowest rounds. Kenney, Shea, Vannello and one of the two 59s combined for the Bucks’ 215. That balance allowed Buckeye to create separation from Lutheran West, which finished at 236.
Kenney’s bounce-back round and pair of birdies set the pace, while Buckeye placed five golfers under 60 to complete the victory.
