Miller’s 491 Series Leads Buckeye Boys Past Berea-Midpark

Buckeye’s boys varsity bowling team picked up a road victory Monday night, defeating Berea-Midpark 2,487-2,297 at Brook Park’s Snow Road lanes. Strong individual series from the top of the Bucks’ lineup and solid Baker-game performance provided the margin in the 190-pin win.

Senior Kevin Miller set the tone for Buckeye with the high series of the match, rolling games of 266 and 225 for a 491 two-game total. His opening 266 gave the Bucks early control and helped establish a gap Berea-Midpark never fully closed. Miller’s consistency across both games anchored Buckeye’s scoring and kept pressure on the Titans throughout.

Right behind him was Alex Marconi, who turned in a 457 series on games of 236 and 221. Marconi’s pair gave Buckeye a reliable second scoring option and helped the Bucks stack count frames in both team games. John Ambrose added another key performance with a 412 series, finishing with a 227 after a 185 opener to provide a late-match boost in the second game.

Buckeye’s depth also contributed to the victory. Carter Fry posted games of 206 and 157 for a 363 series, giving the Bucks another solid number in the lineup. Sean Chambers chipped in with a 192 and added a spare-away (SAW) game of 150 to round out the scoring, helping ensure Buckeye maintained a comfortable cushion in total pins.

The Bucks closed out the match with strong work in the Baker format, where five bowlers combine to complete a single game. Buckeye rolled Baker games of 233 and 189, using clean frames and timely strikes to secure the final margin over Berea-Midpark. Those Baker totals capped a complete team effort that complemented the high individual series at the top of the order.

With the 2,487-2,297 win, Buckeye’s boys varsity team added a quality road result early in the season. Behind Miller’s 491 and Marconi’s 457, the Bucks showed both high-end scoring potential and lineup depth that should serve them well as they move deeper into conference and tournament play.
