Buckeye leaned on a dominant start from Stough and scratched out just enough early offense Tuesday night to beat North Central 2-0 at Griffith Field in Myrtle Beach. The decisive stretch came in the opening two innings, when the Bucks scored on sacrifice flies by Brown and Metter, then turned the rest over to their right-hander.

Stough was in control throughout the seven-inning shutout, striking out 11, allowing three hits and walking none. North Central put only limited pressure on him all game, with Horton, Eubanks and Truesdale collecting the Knights' lone hits. Buckeye's pitching accounted for 11 strikeouts overall, while North Central pitchers finished with five strikeouts.

The Bucks got on the board in the first inning when Brown lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the game's first run. Buckeye added its second run in the second, again manufacturing offense, as Metter delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. Those two situational at-bats proved enough in a game where runs were hard to come by on both sides.
