Shea Leads Buckeye in 210-199 Match Loss Against Bay

AVON LAKE, Ohio - Kamille Shea shot a team-low 48 and Valentina Barber recorded a personal-best 52 as Buckeye posted a 210 in a 199-210 loss to Bay High School on Tuesday at Sweetbriar Golf Club.
Bay finished with the lower team total, earning an 11-stroke victory over the Bucks.
Shea set the pace at the top of Buckeye’s lineup with the lowest round among the six Bucks golfers. Angelina Vannello followed with a 51, while Barber’s career-best performance gave Buckeye three scores of 52 or lower.
Anna Eberhardt completed Buckeye’s four-player scoring total with a 59. The rounds from Shea, Vannello, Barber and Eberhardt combined for the Bucks’ 210. Barber’s personal best was a key part of that total and marked the team’s top individual milestone of the match.
Olivia Hanna added a 60, and Amelia Kenney finished with a 64. Although those rounds did not count toward the four-score team total, all six Buckeye golfers completed the nine-hole competition.
Bay’s 199 proved enough to secure the match, but Buckeye left Sweetbriar with three rounds in the low 50s or better and a new personal benchmark from Barber.
