CLEVELAND, Ohio - Morgan Penny scored the eventual winner less than seven minutes into the match, and Maddie Wilhelm recorded a hat trick as Buckeye rolled to a 6-0 victory over Normandy on Tuesday. The Bucks scored four times in the first half, added two goals after halftime and improved to 4-3-2.

Penny started the decisive opening stretch with an unassisted goal at the 38:33 mark of the first half. Wilhelm doubled the lead 1:36 later, finishing a pass from Rya Fitzgerald with 36:57 remaining. Wilhelm struck again at 33:47 off an assist from Brooklyn DiEgidio, giving Buckeye three goals in less than five minutes.

Tenley Winter extended the advantage to 4-0 with 22:33 left in the first half, converting a chance created by Kelsey Velick. Buckeye continued to apply pressure after halftime. Claire King assisted Wilhelm’s third goal with 35:34 remaining, completing the hat trick and pushing the margin to five.

Winter completed the scoring at 27:40 with her second goal of the match. DiEgidio supplied the assist for her second helper of the night. The Bucks finished with six goals from five assisted finishes and one unassisted, led by Wilhelm’s three goals and Winter’s brace.

Buckeye controlled the statistical battle with an 18-1 advantage in shots and put nine attempts on goal while holding Normandy without a shot on target. Carlie Gunkelman finished with zero saves behind a defense that protected the shutout, while Normandy’s goalkeeper made three saves. The Bucks also recorded the match’s only corner kick as Normandy fell to 1-7.

Buckeye’s next scheduled match is at home against Ashland on Saturday, Sep. 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM EDT.
