Enrique Alvarez scored four goals to power Cascade High School to an 8-0 victory over Estacada on Thursday, with the Cougars reaching the mercy-rule margin during the first half. Alvarez’s finishing provided the decisive push as Cascade overwhelmed Estacada before halftime at its home field in Turner.
Alvarez accounted for half of Cascade’s eight goals and led a concentrated attack that ended the match without the need for a second half. The Cougars consistently turned their pressure into scoring chances, and Alvarez capitalized four times to deliver the match’s standout individual performance. Cascade’s eight-goal output also moved the team to 27 goals this season.
The Cougars complemented their attack by keeping Estacada scoreless throughout the shortened match. Cascade protected its end while continuing to push forward, producing a complete result under clear skies and an 82-degree temperature.
