Artist Spotlight: Savanna Marcle Builds on Early Creativity and State Recognition
For Cascade High School artist Savanna Marcle, the ambition to become known around the world has roots in a childhood filled with creative encouragement. Her journey began at a very young age, with a mother who recognized her artistic strengths and helped her explore them. Today, that early support is part of a story that includes recognition in Oregon, community work and a visit to the U.S. Capitol.
Marcle’s mother was also her preschool teacher for a time. When writing was not yet a strength, her mother noticed how creative she was and gave her resources to be as artistic as possible. Rather than letting difficulty with one skill define her, Marcle had room to develop another. That encouragement gave her an early foundation for pursuing art.
Effort remains central to Marcle’s development. She puts substantial work into her art, and her grandmother offers a personal observation about the results: She can see Marcle in her artwork. That family connection adds another dimension to her creative journey, linking the work she makes today with the people who have recognized and encouraged her creativity.
Among Marcle’s achievements was winning for Oregon in the 250 American fair. The recognition brought her to the U.S. Capitol in July, where she met the second lady of the United States. Alongside that achievement, Marcle has done extensive community work for the state. Her contributions beyond her own artwork are an important part of this Art Club spotlight, highlighting both her creative commitment and her involvement in the wider community.
Marcle’s future goal is clear: She would love to become a world-famous artist. Beneath that ambition is a more personal wish, not to be forgotten. From her mother’s early encouragement to her own sustained effort, Marcle’s journey reflects a desire to make art that leaves a lasting impression.
