Cabrera Scores Five as Cascade Boys Soccer Opens League Play With 8-0 Win

Julian Cabrera scored five goals, and Cascade's Boys Soccer struck twice in the opening four minutes Thursday before earning an 8-0 mercy-rule victory over Central in the Cougar's league opener. Cascade’s quick start proved decisive, setting the pace for a match that ended with 22 minutes left to play.

The Cougars established possession immediately and made their early pressure count with two rapid goals. Rather than allowing Central to settle after the opening burst, Cascade continued circulating the ball and forced the home side to spend much of the match chasing play. That control created repeated opportunities while limiting Central’s ability to build an attack.

Right Back Spencer Moll supplied one of the match’s biggest moments on Cascade’s third goal, scoring from deep to extend the advantage. The strike added another dimension to the Cougars’ attack, which received its leading performance from Cabrera. His five-goal outing accounted for more than half of Cascade’s total and helped push the match to an early conclusion.

Cascade also completed the shutout behind a defense that protected its lead and supported the team’s possession-based approach. With the Cougars controlling the ball for long stretches, Central had little time to generate sustained pressure. The combination of finishing, defensive organization and steady possession carried Cascade to an emphatic start in league play under clear skies and 71-degree conditions.

The Cougars leave the opener with a 1-0 league record and will return home to face Newport on Tuesday, September 29th.
