Cascade Girls Soccer Shares Midseason Progress and Looks Ahead to Rematches
At the midpoint of the girls soccer season, Cascade High School is ranked in the top 20 as they prepare for another round of conference competition. They are a young team and still learning how to work together. For the families, students, fans and staff, the midseason update offers a look at both the challenges the team have faced and the progress they are making.
The girls lost by just one goal to Stayton and Philomath, which currently hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the conference, respectively. Both teams join Cascade in the top 20. Those narrow results give us a concrete measure of our competition: the difference against each of the conference’s top two teams was a single goal.
The work continues in practice, we are learning to come together as a team. We are getting better with each practice and each game, even as that learning process continues. The focus for this young group remains on working together, with the next stretch of the schedule giving us a chance to put that progress into play against familiar opponents.
During the second half of the season the team will begin facing everyone they have already played this season again. Those rematches will let them revisit earlier matchups with more experience playing together. Keep following our Cougars as we move into that next stretch of the season.
