Jackson Elvin Steps Into Senior Role With Patience, Ambition and Pride
Jackson Elvin stands out because he has paired patience with preparation throughout his Cascade High School football career. After spending time behind graduate offensive tackle Bryce May, the senior is stepping forward to take on a starting role for the Cougars. Wearing No. 72, Elvin now has the chance to apply everything he learned while waiting for his opportunity and help set the tone for Cascade’s offense.
The journey has been four years in the making. Elvin has played football at Cascade throughout his entire high school career, steadily developing while backing up May and learning what the offensive tackle position demands. May’s graduation leaves big shoes to fill, but it also opens the door for Elvin to establish his own identity as a dependable senior in the trenches.
Jackson has also earned a place on the Willamette side for the 2026 Les Schwab Bowl, an accomplishment that reflects how far he has come. He views the level of competition with confidence, noting that the 6A and 5A talent in the bowl game is comparable to the 4A talent he has faced during the regular season. That perspective gives Elvin a grounded approach to a high-profile setting: respect the competition, trust the preparation and play football.
For Elvin, senior leadership is about more than securing a starting position. He wants the Cougars to build tighter chemistry and come together as a team, especially as Cascade works to live up to the excitement surrounding the program after the 2025 season. From his spot on the offensive line, he can support that goal by bringing consistency and a team-first outlook to a unit where coordination and trust are essential.
Elvin’s final high school season will bring a new role, greater responsibility and a chance to reward years of steady work. His experience behind an established starter, his Les Schwab Bowl recognition and his focus on team chemistry have prepared him for the challenge. He and the #3 Cougars will continue their schedule tonight hosting the #5 Estacada Rangers for the school's annual Homecoming game.
