Wyatt Metcalf Brings Preparation, Versatility and Championship Goals to Cascade

Brody Anundi | Cascade High School | Sep 30, 2026

Wyatt Metcalf stands out for the work he does before the ball is snapped. The two-year varsity player helps teammates get to their spots, makes sure everyone is prepared for the play and provides a steady presence for Cascade High School. Whether lining up at outside linebacker or fullback, No. 17 embraces the responsibility that comes with contributing on both sides of the football.

That preparation is supported by the effort Wyatt Metcalf puts in away from game nights. He works hard during the offseason, building the foundation needed to handle the physical demands of two positions. His commitment also gives the Cougars a teammate who understands that leadership can be shown through communication, consistency and a willingness to help others succeed.

Wyatt Metcalf has already demonstrated his playmaking ability on defense. He recorded two interceptions last season, an impressive contribution from his outside linebacker position. At fullback, he gives Cascade another dependable option in the backfield. His experience entering another varsity campaign should help him take on an even larger role as the Cougars pursue their team goals.

Football is not the only part of Wyatt Metcalf’s athletic story at Cascade. As a multisport athlete, he also competes in baseball and earned second-team all-league recognition as a catcher. The position requires communication, toughness and an understanding of where everyone needs to be, qualities that carry naturally from behind the plate to the football field.

Wyatt Metcalf has set ambitious goals for both sports, including earning all-league honors in football and baseball. His biggest football aspiration is shared with the rest of the Cascade program: contribute in every way he can and help the Cougars win a state championship. That pursuit continue with an away game against Philomath at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd when his preparation, versatility and team-first approach will again be valuable to Cascade.
