CENTRAL LAKE, Mich. - Central Lake-Ellsworth set a physical tone that proved decisive Friday night, rolling to a 54-0 victory over Engadine. The Knights controlled the matchup on both sides of the ball and delivered a commanding response after a difficult loss the previous week.

The 54-point performance reflected consistent execution by the CLE offense, while the defense completed the shutout. The Knights' emphasis on physicality and aggression throughout the week carried into the game as they prevented Engadine from scoring and built a decisive advantage.

Head Coach Chase Hibbard
“This week in practice, we solely focused on physicality and aggression. We demonstrated that on Friday with a dominating win. It was a great response to our tough loss last week. Our players executed well on both sides of the ball. Our second-string players also stepped up and played well. Overall, it was a great team effort win.”

Brady Roggenbeck had a solid all-around game, completing 9 of 11 passes for 174 yards and 4 touchdowns. Roggenbeck also rushed 6 times for 59 yards and a score. Riley Shafer also rushed six times while netting 64 yards and hauled in 4 passes for 63 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Josiah Chellis recorded 4 receptions for 107 yards and a score while adding 4 carries for 25 yards. Bill Hopp rushed 5 times for 14 yards and a touchdown while recording one catch for 29 yards.

The Knights also received contributions beyond the starting lineup. Forrest Wilson carried the ball one time for a 48-yard touchdown, in relief at the fullback position, while Nolan Essenberg completed both of his pass attempts for 70 yards and a score to Mason Henderson. Essenberg added 15 yards on his lone rush as well as a 30-yard pass reception.

Defensively, Tristan Druckenmiller (1 TFL), Nolyn Whisler, and Shaffer (2 TFLs) each recorded seven tackles, while Henderson added 6 tackles and Wilson five.

The Knights (3-2, 2-1 BAV) will travel to Forest Area (1-3, 2-03 BAV) for another conference showdown before Bellaire visits a week later for homecoming.
