College of the Ozarks Lady Cats Face Tough Loss Against Langston in Sooner Athletic Conference Game
In a fiercely contested battle against a top-ranked Langston University Lions team, the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats faced a tough setback in their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) basketball game on Thursday. The game, which took place in Langston, OK, ended with a final score of 64-74 in favor of the Lions. The Lady Cats initially kept the game competitive, managing a close halftime score of 28-27. However, despite a strong performance from Blythe Benefield, who led her team with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal, the Lady Cats could not hold off the Lions in the second half. Taylor Rush also contributed significantly with 13 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal. Other players like Susanna Moran added 7 points and 7 rebounds to try and secure a win for the Lady Cats. This game emphasized the strength of the Langston team, who is currently leading the conference with a solid record of 14-1 and ranking in the top 30 of the NAIA. The Lady Cats, now standing at a record of 12-7 overall and 10-5 in the SAC, are looking to bounce back in their next game. They will be hosting the Central Christian College of Kansas on Saturday at the College of the Ozarks.
