Lady Cats Secure Victory Over Nelson University Lions in a Pivotal League Game

KEETER GYM, College of the Ozarks – In a spirited college basketball showdown on January 11, 2025, the College of the Ozarks Lady Cats clinched a crucial 75-67 victory over the Nelson University Lions. The victory served to bolster their season record to 11-6 overall, with a 9-4 Sooner Athletic Conference mark. From the tip, the Lady Cats showcased a compelling mix of strategy and skill, ending the first half with a strong 41-30 lead. The lead saw minor fluctuations with various changes in command, but ultimately, the College of the Ozarks maintained ascendancy especially evident in a decisive fourth quarter. Logan Jones led the scoring with an impressive 24 points, followed by Susie Moran, who not only scored 14 points but also grabbed 9 rebounds and made a noteworthy contribution on both ends of the court. Camp complements came from Abbey Linville and Taylor Rush, tallying 12 and 11 points, respectively, with Linville dishing 3 assists and Rush pulling down 5 rebounds. The gym pulsated with energy as key moments unfolded, including multiple lead changes. Nonetheless, the Lady Cats displayed tenacity, holding off the Lions effectively in the crucial moments of the final quarter. The collective efforts in rebounds, steals, and assists from the rest of the team were also instrumental in consolidating the score and securing the win. Looking ahead, the Lady Cats are set to host John Brown University on January 18, 2025, back at their home court.
