Crusaders Host FSDB With District Seeding at Stake

First Baptist Christian Academy will host FSDB in a varsity volleyball district matchup Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m., with district seeding at stake. The Crusaders enter the home match with their kill leaders, Londan Walker and Mia Reed, and ace leader Vanessa Shestakov among the key players to watch.

Walker and Reed give the Crusaders two attacking options to feature against FSDB. Their ability to finish rallies will be a central storyline, but creating those chances starts with serve reception and setting. Keeping both kill leaders involved would give the Crusaders more options at the net rather than leaving the attack dependent on one hitter. The connection between the first pass and the attack will be worth watching throughout the match.

Shestakov brings another point-scoring element from the service line. As the team's ace leader, she offers a way to pressure FSDB before its offense can develop. Serving effectively could force FSDB into less favorable attacking situations, while balancing that pressure with consistency will be important.
