Crusaders Look to Build on SSAA Orlando Health Cup A Title Run

Caleb Young | First Baptist Christian Academy | Jun 8, 2026

First Baptist Christian Academy enters the boys soccer season with a clear identity and a familiar objective. The Crusaders are looking to build on last season's success after winning the SSAA Orlando Health Cup A, and much of that optimism comes from a returning core that gives the program continuity heading into a new campaign.

That foundation starts with senior captains Paxton Holland and Daniel Ganderez, two returning leaders expected to set the tone for a group that takes pride in its effort and consistency. First Baptist Christian Academy also adds goalkeeper Aaron Dolack, a newcomer who could play an important role as the Crusaders shape their lineup for the season ahead. With experienced leadership and a key addition in goal, the roster has the pieces to stay competitive from the opening match forward.

The team's biggest strength is its work rate, a trait that should keep the Crusaders in matches and give them a chance to control stretches through discipline and persistence. That approach will be especially important as First Baptist Christian Academy works to replace last year's main goal scorer. Finishing is the primary area for improvement, and how quickly the Crusaders develop reliable scoring options could go a long way in determining how high this group can climb.

The early schedule offers immediate tests and a pair of notable dates. The season opens Nov. 3 against a new district opponent, Lake Mary Prep, a matchup that should provide an early measure of where the Crusaders stand. Later in the schedule, a Dec. 17 rematch with Legacy Charter will bring added attention after the teams met in the SSAA final, giving First Baptist Christian Academy a chance to revisit one of the most significant results from last season.

With a returning core, experienced captains and a team identity built around hard work, the Crusaders appear positioned to contend again. If they can turn their energy and organization into more consistent finishing in front of goal, First Baptist Christian Academy has a strong chance to make another meaningful run this season.
