Frankel Jewish Academy made its first home match of the season a strong one Thursday, topping University Liggett 169-188 at Knollwood Country Club. The Jaguars set the tone with a balanced team effort, led by junior Kobi Schmeltz, who earned medalist honors with a 4-over-par 40.

Schmeltz delivered the day’s best round with a steady card that included five pars and four bogeys, a performance that gave Frankel both a low score and an early spark. Aaron Schuchman and Robbie Feldman backed him with matching 42s, giving the Jaguars three strong counting scores and firm control of the match.

Moses Schuchman added a 45, and Ari Salama finished with a 47 as Frankel posted a solid team total of 169. On a clear 70-degree afternoon with a light breeze, the Jaguars showed consistency across the lineup and turned their home course into an advantage.
