Frankel Jewish Academy pulls away in second half for 8-2 win over Detroit Cristo Rey

Chris Schultz | Frankel Jewish Academy | Apr 22, 2026

Frankel Jewish Academy broke open a tied match with a dominant second half Tuesday night, rolling past Detroit Cristo Rey 8-2 at Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit. After going into halftime even at 1-1, the Jaguars erupted for seven goals after the break to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The decisive stretch came in the second half, when Frankel Jewish Academy turned a competitive match into a rout with relentless finishing. Senior No. 9 Tamar Fischman led the surge with four goals, delivering the standout scoring performance of the night. Olivia Keller, Tobi Felhandler and Jenna Vinter also found the net for the Jaguars, while the Wolves added an own goal during the barrage.

Frankel Jewish Academy's attack showed balance and pressure throughout the final half, producing seven goals after scoring once in the opening half. The Jaguars' ability to capitalize on chances after intermission was the difference, especially after Detroit Cristo Rey had matched them through the first 40 minutes. By the end of the night, Frankel Jewish Academy had turned a deadlocked match into a six-goal victory.

While the offense took over in the second half, freshman goalkeeper Ari Katz continued her strong play in net. Her steady work helped the Jaguars absorb pressure early and maintain control as the match opened up. Frankel Jewish Academy also limited Detroit Cristo Rey to a single second-half goal while continuing to press forward.

The result gave the Jaguars one of their most productive offensive performances of the season and provided another strong outing from Fischman at the front of the attack. With contributions across the lineup and a second-half finish that decided the match, Frankel Jewish Academy left Detroit with an 8-2 road win and momentum heading into its next outing.
