November 16, 2024 HAVRE, Mont. - In a thrilling Frontier Conference Volleyball Championship Final held at the Armory Gym, the top-seed Providence Argos staged an impressive comeback to defeat the third seed Montana Western Bulldogs with a 3-2 scoreline Saturday evening. The intense face-off concluded, amidst roaring cheers from the home crowd, fully encapsulating the spirit of indoor volleyball at its finest. The match showcased a slow start for the Argos, losing the first two sets 19-25 and 18-25, respectively. However, the momentum drastically shifted in Providence's favor starting in the third set, where they narrowly clinched a victory with a 26-24 score. The fourth game saw the Argos dominate the court, securing a decisive 25-9 win, before finally sealing their triumph in the fifth set with a 15-11 score. This victory marked a significant turnaround, credited to stellar performances, particularly in the match's later stages. Key contributors for Montana Western included Jazi Smith, who delivered an outstanding performance with 16 kills and 3.0 blocks, followed by Danyel Martin with 12 kills and 4.0 blocks.
