Battlin’ Bears win 2025 Frontier/Cal Pac Men’s Golf Qualifier Tournament

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Rocky Mountain lead from start to finish to win the 2025 Frontier Conference/Cal Pac NAIA Qualifier Tournament Wednesday at Papago Golf Club. The Battlin’ Bears were the only team with an under-par, finishing three rounds of 1-under-par 863. RMC shot 285 strokes as a team in the third round, fueling the team title and received the automatic bid to the NAIA Men’s Golf National Tournament on May 20-23 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Simpson (Calif.) finished second with 20-over-par 884 strokes, followed by Montana Tech third with 25-over-par 889 strokes. Carroll was fourth with 943 strokes (79-over-par), Providence Christian (Calif.) fifth with 987 strokes. Soka University of America finished sixth, California State University-Maritime seventh, and MSU-Northern eighth in the team standings. Rocky Mountain had four golfers placed in the top 10. Kristjan Burkelca finished the final round of 69 (3-under-par) Wednesday. He finished the tournament at 7-under-par 209 strokes. Trey Alwert of Simpson and Jake Johnson finished in a tie for second place with 1-under-par each (215 strokes). Aidan McDonagh was fourth (1-over-par – 217 strokes). Josehp McGreevey was fifth with 2-over-par (218 strokes), while his teammate Carson Hupka finished sixth with 3-over-par (219 strokes). Burkelca, Johnson, and McGreevey each finished the third round with low score of 3-under-par 69.
