DICKINSON, N.D. - Fourth-seed Dakota State (S.D.) kept their season alive Friday afternoon with a 7-5, 10-inning victory over third-seed Dickinson State (N.D.) in a loser-out game at the 2026 Frontier Conference Baseball Championship at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark.

The Trojans broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the 10th when Cameron Kittridge lined a two-run single after a walk and a double put runners in scoring position. Dakota State then closed out the bottom half to finish the extra-inning win in a game that swung back and forth through the middle innings.

Dakota State (20-29-1 overall record) struck first with two runs in the third. Connor Raney hit an RBI single, and Camaron Haller followed with an RBI double for a 2-0 lead.

Dickinson State answered immediately in the bottom half with a three-run inning. Ty Farwell drove in a run with a single, Wyatt Wilharm added an RBI groundout, and Jace Buchanan delivered an RBI single to move the Blue Hawks in front, 3-2.

Dickinson State added on in the fourth when Jadyn Roberts homered to left to make it 4-2. Dakota State chipped away in the sixth after Haller doubled and moved up on an error, setting up Cameron DeMaria's sacrifice fly that cut the margin to 4-3.

The Blue Hawks finished with 13 hits, including three from Luis Rodriguez and two from Roberts, but left nine runners on base.

Haller provided the biggest swing before extra innings. The Dakota State catcher finished with three hits, including two doubles and a solo home run to left in the eighth that tied the score at 5-5.

Raney drove in two runs for Dakota State, which managed eight hits, drew five walks and played error-free defense despite being out-hit by Dickinson State 13-8.

Kellan Johns (W, 4-2) earned the win for Dakota State, whose pitchers allowed five runs on 13 hits over 10 innings. Trent Chavez (L, 0-2) took the loss for Dickinson State.

The Blue Hawks end their 2025-26 season with an overall record of 25-25.
