Fighting Saints capture 2025 Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field team title

HELENA, Mont. – The Frontier Conference members faced challenging weather conditions Monday, braving the wet and cold conditions on the second day of the 2025 conference meet, presented by First Interstate Bank. The two-day conference meet was held at Vigilante Stadium, hosted by Carroll. The Fighting Saints never trailed since day one of the conference meet, winning the title with 261 points. Montana Tech placed second with 217 points, followed by Rocky Mountain third with 127 points. Providence was fourth with 49 points and Montana Western fifth with 19 points. The Fighting Saints added seven event titles on the second day of the conference meet. Zach Gacnik highlighted with the NAIA ‘B’ provisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 47.91 seconds after winning the 5000-meter run. Brycen Gardner of Carroll was named the conference’s Track Athlete-of-the-Meet, scoring the most points in the running events. He won the 1500-meter run title after clocking a time of 4:08.07. He also placed fourth in the 5000-meter run. Carroll also won titles in the high jump (Weston Means – 1.95 meters or 6 feet, 4.75 inches), 400-meter dash (Treyton Graham – 49.13 seconds), 800-meter run (1:56.20), and 400-meter hurdles (Carson Krack – 54.58 seconds). The Fighting Saints closed the conference meet by winning the 4 x 400-meter relay with a time of 3:26.68. Harry Clark was named to the 2025 Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach-of-the-Year after leading the Saints to the team title. Cade VanVleet of Montana Tech earned his third throwing title after winning the shot-put with the NAIA ‘A’ automatic qualifying toss of 16.85 meters mark (55 feet, 3.5 inches). He was named the Frontier Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Meet after scoring 30 points in the conference meet. Other Monday’s event titles included Montana Tech in four events: Nicolo Lancini in the triple jump (46 feet, 3.25 inches), Morgan McClernan in the 110-meter hurdles (14.91 seconds, Ryan LaMerre in the 100-meter dash (10.90 seconds), and Matthew Moreni in the 200-meter dash in 21.85 seconds. Rocky Mountain won the 4 x 100-meter relay title in 43.27 seconds. The NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will be held on May 21-23 in Marion, Ind., hosted by Indiana Wesleyan. The NAIA national office will announce the official list of national qualifiers next week.
