Frontier Conference names Montana Tech Basketball Teams 2025-26 Team Character Award recipients
July 28, 2026
BUTTE, Mont. - We have selected the Montana Tech women’s and men’s basketball teams as the 2025-26 Frontier Conference Team Character Award recipients, presented by WinWon Technologies. The Orediggers will serve as our nominees for the NAIA Female and Male Team Character Awards, among the association’s highest honors for institutions demonstrating a sustained commitment to the NAIA Champions of Character initiative.
“Montana Tech not only meets the rigorous standards of a five-star institution, but they have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to embracing the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program through a culture that prioritizes both competitive excellence and holistic personal development,” Frontier Conference Commissioner Dr. Scott Crawford said. The award recognizes institutions that exemplify integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
Montana Tech student-athletes demonstrate integrity while meeting the same demanding academic standards as the university’s general student population and pursuing degrees in some of the state’s most challenging programs. They show respect by treating teammates, coaches, opponents and officials with dignity, while supporting diverse perspectives and positive relationships throughout Oredigger athletics.
That commitment also extends into Butte through “Walk to School with a Digger Day,” support for the Butte Emergency Food Bank and Student-Athlete Advisory Council blood drives. Oredigger student-athletes practice servant leadership as research assistants, library employees, mentors and volunteers. They also completed the entire 2025-26 season without a single ejection, reflecting a standard of sportsmanship built around competing with intensity while respecting opponents and the game.
By recognizing both basketball programs, we celebrate a Montana Tech culture in which success is measured through competition, academics and community service. WinWon Technologies, founded in 2022, supports schools and conferences through customized sports technology designed to streamline operations, integrate systems and connect conference and campus leaders, coaches, staff and student-athletes.
