Orediggers capture fourth straight Frontier Conference men's basketball postseason tournament title

March 4, 2025 GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Montana Tech Orediggers captured the 2025 Frontier Conference Tournament men's basketball title in a 69-50 commanding victory over Providence Argos Tuesday evening at Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena. The Orediggers, entering as the tournament's top seed, extended their season record to 24-6 and claimed their fourth consecutive tournament title. Montana Tech displayed a strong first half, leading 31-27 at the break. The Orediggers turned up the heat in the second half, building a remarkably large 26-point lead. Despite a valiant effort from the second-seeded Providence, who rallied late in the game, they couldn't close the gap, ending their season at 16-14 overall record. Montana Tech's standout performance came from Hayden Diekhans, who dominated the court with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Michael Ure added significant impetus with 15 points and five rebounds. The Orediggers now look forward to their next challenge in the NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament, set for March 14 with the First Round.
