Gilmour Girls Varsity Soccer raced to a five-goal halftime lead and defeated Chagrin Falls 7-1 on Wednesday at home, improving to 4-1-1 this season. Audrey Hastings led the Lancers' decisive attacking display with a hat trick as Gilmour took control early and carried a 5-0 advantage into halftime.
The Lancers received goals from four players in the home victory. Along with Audrey Hastings's three goals, Clara King scored twice and supplied an assist. Gabby Merheb and Nia Matlock each added a goal, giving Gilmour seven goals from a balanced group of finishers.
Gilmour also created opportunities through several distributors. Anni Franks, Kelsey Pattison and Kynzie Campbell each recorded an assist, joining Clara King in helping the Lancers turn their first-half pressure into a commanding lead. The five-goal opening half provided more than enough separation before Gilmour added two goals after halftime.
The Lancers' defensive work complemented the high-scoring attack. Hadley Bashein made a season-high five saves in goal, limiting Chagrin Falls to one second-half goal and helping Gilmour complete the six-goal victory.
Girls Varsity Soccer travels to Warren JFK on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 for game seven of the regular season. The Lancers will enter that matchup looking to build on the finishing, chance creation and goalkeeping that highlighted Wednesday's win.
