Boys Junior Varsity Golf opens 2026 season with fourth-place finish in Kenston JV Tournament

Gilmour Academy opened the 2026 Boys Junior Varsity Golf season with a fourth-place finish at the Kenston JV Tournament on Monday, Aug. 3. The Lancers posted a four-player team score of 347, placing fourth in a field of 19 teams.
Carter Slife led Gilmour with an 81 and tied for third place individually. The low round provided the foundation for the Lancers’ team total and gave Gilmour a top-three finisher in its first competition of the season.
Luke Woodhouse added an 85, finishing four strokes behind Gilmour’s leader. Paul Fox followed with an 87, giving the Lancers three counting scores below 90. That consistency at the top of the lineup put Gilmour in position to finish among the tournament’s leading teams.
Braden Minotas completed the team scoring with a 94. The four counting rounds of 81, 85, 87 and 94 combined for Gilmour’s 347. Parker Williams shot a 97, while Alex Pikovskiy carded a 98 to round out the Lancers’ six-player effort.
The season-opening tournament gave Gilmour an immediate test against a large field, and the Lancers responded by securing a top-four team finish. With three golfers breaking 90 and Carter Slife earning a share of third place, Gilmour began the 2026 schedule with both team depth and a strong individual result.
