WARREN, Ohio - Gilmour Academy opened the 2026 Boys Varsity Golf season with a fourth-place finish at the JFK Invitational on Monday, Aug. 3. The Lancers posted a team score of 330, placing fourth in a 23-team field.
Brody Race led Gilmour with a 79, the Lancers’ only round below 80. Race finished 11th overall and set the pace for a lineup that received four counting scores of 84 or better.
Enzo Marous followed with an 83, while Marty Klang and Lorenzo Salvatore each shot 84. Those four rounds combined for the Lancers’ 330 team total. The narrow five-stroke spread between Gilmour Academy’s second and fourth counting scores provided the consistency needed to secure a top-four finish.
Iulius Braho completed the Lancers’ lineup with a 105. Although his score did not count toward the four-player team total, the opening tournament provided the entire group with its first competitive round of the season.
Race’s top-11 individual finish and the team’s placement among the leading four programs gave Gilmour Academy a solid starting point for the 2026 campaign. With four counting rounds clustered between 79 and 84, the Lancers came away from the 23-team event with an early measure of their lineup’s scoring depth.
