HUDSON, Ohio - Gilmour Boys Varsity Golf finished 16th in the 21-team Hudson Explorer Invitational on Aug. 10, posting a team score of 340. Lorenzo Salvatore led the Lancers with a season-best 79 and placed 24th individually among 110 golfers.
Lorenzo Salvatore's sub-80 round gave Gilmour its lowest score of the tournament and established the pace for the team's four counting scores. His 24th-place finish put him within the top quarter of a large individual field and marked his best round of the season to date.
Enzo Marous provided Gilmour's second counting score with an 83. Brody Race followed with an 87, and Marty Klang completed the team total with a 91. Those four rounds combined for the Lancers' 340, while Jack Quinn also competed and finished with a 98.
Against a field of 21 teams and 110 golfers, Gilmour left the event with a top-25 individual result from Lorenzo Salvatore and a 340 team total built from four counting rounds of 91 or better.
