Gilmour Boys Varsity Golf posted a team score of 339 to finish ninth in a 16-team field Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Kenston Invitational. Enzo Marous led the Lancers with a 79, earning a tie for sixth place in the individual standings.
Marous delivered Gilmour's only round below 80 and set the pace for a balanced group of counting scores. Lorenzo Salvatore followed with an 85, the second-lowest score in Gilmour's lineup. Jack Quinn finished two strokes behind Salvatore with an 87, while Marty Klang added an 88. Those four scores combined for the Lancers' 339.
Iulius Braho completed Gilmour's five-player lineup with a 94. Although that round did not count toward the four-score team total, it gave the Lancers five completed individual rounds at the invitational.
The Varsity Lancers' showing was highlighted by Marous' top-six finish and four counting rounds of 88 or better.
