Brody Race wins Karpis Classic as Gilmour places second
Brody Race shot a 74 to earn first place overall, and Gilmour Boys Varsity Golf finished second in the Karpis Classic on Tuesday at Sugarbush Golf Club. The Lancers posted a four-player team score of 323 in the tournament hosted by James A. Garfield High School.
Gilmour’s five-player results listed Brody Race at 74, giving the Lancers the tournament’s top individual score and a strong foundation for their runner-up team finish.
Lorenzo Salvatore supplied Gilmour’s second-lowest round with an 81, and Marty Klang followed closely with an 82. Enzo Marous completed the Lancers’ four counting scores with an 86. Those rounds combined for the team’s 323 total.
Iulius Braho added an 87 as Gilmour placed all five of its golfers within a 13-shot range.
