Gilmour Academy Lancers Outswim Mentor Lake Catholic in Home Swim Meet

In an impressive display of speed and teamwork, the Gilmour Academy Lancers secured victories over the Mentor Lake Catholic Cougars in both men’s and women’s categories at their home venue on December 10, 2024. The women’s team dominated with a score of 101-43, while the men’s team also triumphed with a close 92-77.

The meet featured standout performances from several Lancers. Colton Cutwright notably anchored the 200 medley relay, contributing significantly to the team's success. Luke Woodhouse excelled in the 100 breaststroke, while Conor Tietjen took the lead in the 100 butterfly. PJ Koerwitz showed versatility by winning both the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle events, ensuring key points for the Lancers.

The competition also highlighted key moments in the relay events where the Mentor Lake Catholic team posted significant times, such as 1:31.91 in the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and 3:26.26 in the Boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.

Looking ahead, the Lancers will next host the All Catholic Invite at Gilmour Academy on December 14, 2024. The team aims to continue their strong season, standing with current records of 2-1 each for both women and men.

This home meet against Mentor Lake Catholic not only showcased the individual talents of Gilmour's swimmers but also emphasized their collective strength and strategic prowess in securing wins across multiple events.
